Thinking Day is here!

This Saturday our SU is having a Thinking Day event. I guess we are ready. My troop is doing Japan. I don’t know how well it will turn out. The girls would talk about ideas, but there was no follow up. Maybe because it was their 1st time. I know I should have let them fail, but I just couldn’t do that.

I found the Girl Guides of Japan website and printed ALL of it. We cut the pages down and the girls decided what and how to put it on the display board. The only person that completed their assigned task was Heather, but that’s not fair because I was there to remind her everyday. Tonight we are making our snack to share. We are making faux Sushi. Rice Krispy treats (cut thin), with a Swedish Fish (jelly fish), and then fruit roll-up wrapped our. So we will have rice, fish and sea weed (lol). They are cute.

So for next year, they will have experience and should know what to do. I will stand back and let them fail, but hopefully I won’t have to. Hopefully they will step up and get it done without me!

We are so bummed about Thinking Day this year. Last year was going to be our first and a founding member of the church it was being held at died, so his funeral took precedence. This year we found out that our camping try-it that council is holding is on that day (and as first year campers, we need all the help we can get). Maybe next year...
